Abstract

The issues connected with Lubomirski’s Rebellion were the object of researchers’ interest both in the context of military and political activities as well as relations between the society of the Commonwealth and the royal court. As regards the mentioned subject, it is also worth mentioning that the Franco-Austrian rivalry for influence in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and its connection with Condé’s candidacy for the Polish that was proposed by the court camp in 1659. What is more, the nobility disagreed on the aspirations of Jan Kazimierz Waza that were perceived as the pursuit of absolutism. The issues of support for ex-marshal Lubomirski by the crown army and its long term results became also quite vital. The present article is focused on the reflection on attitudes of the army and the ways of its funding during the civil war between the royal army and the rebels. Moreover, the article is supplemented with an annex presenting the list of confederate banners from 5 July 1665.
