Abstract

Patients suffering from chronic pain up to 79% are unsatisfied with their pain management (1). A smaller portion of patients with persistent spinal pain syndrome (PSPS) treated with Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS) are unsatisfied due to persistent pain or disappointments about their physical activities.(2,3,4). Once they have a SCS, non-interventional advices as mental coaching or physical therapy are often hard to continue. They prefer an intervention as reprogramming. In our centre a selection of patients with chronic neuropathic pain with a majority of PSPS who are possibly candidates for SCS, were screened in a multidimensional consultation (MDC) with psychologist, physical therapist, pain nurse and specialist.
