Abstract

SCS is proven to be an effective remedy to control neuropathic pain in adults. However, SCS is not confirmed as safe and efficient in treating younger patients, particularly longer-term. For these reasons SCS uses among youth have been limited. Pediatrics patients are less susceptible to chronic pain from nerve injuries probably due to the relative immaturity of the nervous system and neuroimmune profile pre and post-adolescence. The etiology of neuropathic pain is rare in children and it varies between adults and children, which are unusually diagnosed with trigeminal or postherpetic neuralgia and painful diabetic neuropathy [1,2,3].
