Abstract
Background & purpose: Lactational breast abscesses are a serious complication of mastitis which may lead to hospitalisation. Literature examining the incidence, risk factors and optimal management is limited. The purpose of our study was to evaluate patient characteristics and management of lactational breast abscesses in order to inform women about this benign breast disease.
