Abstract

About 15 - 20% of mild traumatic brain injury patients experience persistent postconcussional syndrome(PCS). The diagnosis and treatment of these PCS patients are not always successful. Favorable outcomes reported in recent paper using rTMS on PCS patients suggest changes of brain oscillations may have a role in PCS. We hypothesized that EEG data would show distinctive patterns of specific frequency bands in mTBI patients with PCS compared to healthy subjects and performed event related spectral perturbation(ERSP) analysis.
