Abstract

Deep brain stimulation is a well-established surgical procedure (an effective therapy) for treating cardinal motor symptoms of Parkinson`s neurodegenerative disease. However, due to open-loop DBS offline change (with human intervention) of stimulus parameters, its mechanisms are uncertain. Consequently, the method can be improved for more reliability, more prognostics and automotive too. Thus, the goal of this study is to improve an adaptiveclosed-loop control method which automatically adjust the stimulus intensity and amplitude-pulse-width to condense the oscillatory neuronal activity, basedon response of electrical action potentials gathered from brain`s basal-ganglia with embedded induced stimulus-electrode.
