Abstract

The paper records the various appearances of Matjaž Kmecl on the web, especially on Wikipedia and its sister projects, describes the history and categorization of his Wikipedia entry and his images on Wikimedia Commons, adds details to his Wikidata, explains the importance of placing photographs documenting the discipline in the public domain, compares Kmecl’s and his colleagues’ presence in the public consciousness with the help of dLib and Cobiss, and concludes with a reference on his personal style of expression.
