Abstract

His bundle pacing (HBP) is an effective form of cardiac resynchronization therapy with the drawback of high thresholds and relatively high rates of lead replacement. Left bundle area pacing (LBP) avoids these drawbacks. However, it is not known if stimulating the left bundle alone and the consequent delay in right ventricular activation makes it a less effective form of cardiac resynchronization. In order to address this, we conducted a within patient comparison of acute electrical and haemodynamic response to HBP, LBP and biventricular pacing (BVP).
