Abstract

Progressive cardiac conduction disease can lead to syncope, heart failure, and death. The only available therapy is pacemaker implantation, with no established prevention strategies. While a few immutable characteristics have been shown to presage conduction disease, research to identify modifiable risk factors has been scant.
