Abstract

Calmodulin (CaM), which regulates myriad proteins in cardiac myocytes, features translational redundancy with three encoding genes (CALM1-3). Mutations in CaM result in calmodulinopathies, characterized by arrhythmia and myopathy. However, the specific roles of the 3 CaM genes and the structural underpinnings of their function remain unclear.
