Abstract
Background&Aims: A single nucleotide polymorphism in patatin-like phospholipase domain-containing-3(PNPLA3) gene has been associated with a higher prevalence of NASH and severity of fibrosis, hepatocellular carcinoma and liver decompensation, but there are no data from prospective studies about fibrosis progression with this polymorphism. We investigated whether in NAFLD,PNPLA3rs738409 variant associates with fibrosis progession evaluated by noninvasive tools like FIB-4 and liver stiffness measurement(LSM) by FibroScan.
