Abstract

A46-year-old white man who was on warfarin for a prosthetic heart valve presented with diarrhea for 1 year and hematochezia for 6 months. Colonoscopy revealed circumferential polypoid lesions with superficial mucosal hemorrhages from 20–50 cm from the anus with abrupt cutoff (Figure A). Biopsy of the lesions showed unremarkable colonic mucosa. A rectal endoscopic ultrasound revealed multiple anechoic lesions between the submucosal layer and muscularis propria layer. The patient underwent left hemicolectomy.
