Abstract
Re-examination of all known xenon isotope data for the carbonaceous chondrites Murray and Murchison reveals that these meteorites contain (25±1)•10 12 and (23±1)•10 −12 ccSTP 136f Xe/g of 244 Pu fission xenon, respectively, and they started to retain their xenon at about the same time the Allende meteorite started to retain its xenon more than 4800 million years ago. Some of the mineral inclusions isolated from these meteorites contain xenon and barium isotopes which had been exposed to very high fluences of thermal neutrons
