Abstract
The possibility of Plum pox potyvirus (PPV) to infect weed species under field condition is investigated. The investigation includes species, forming the weed association along the row of plum and apricot orchards, where trees affected by PPV are founded. By DAS ELISA Method Veronica hederifolia L., Lamum amplexicaule L., Capsella bursa-pastoris L., Taraxacum officinale Webir, Lactuca serriola L., Cirium arvense L., Convolvulus arvensis L., Fumaria officinalis l., Vicia angustifolia L., Polygonnum convolvulus L., Lythospermum arvensis L., Rumex crispus L., Plantago lanceolata L., are tested. From the mentioned species PPV is determined serologicaly in Veronica hederifolia, Capsella bursa- pastoris, Lactuca serriola, Lythospermum arvervensis, and Rumex crispus. Besides the serological assay, biological test is done by mechanically inoculating of herbaceous indicators with sap from the positive reacted plants. Nine species from the following botanical families: Asteraceae, Chenopodiaceae, Fabaceae, Solanaceae, Verbenaceae are used as indicators. At this level of the investigation on the base of the results obtained can be concluded that Veronica hederifolia, Capsella bursa-pastoris, Lactuca serriola, Lithospermum arvensis and Rumex crispus are possible hosts of the PPV.
