Abstract
These Mixtec stories from Santa María Izcuintepec Peñoles in Oaxaca are about a fight between the Rain God and the Creator God, in which the Rain God punished the Creator God's subjects with a five-year drought. Raúl Alavez notes that some offerings to the Rain God are still made in the swamp areas.
