Abstract
Abstract A description is provided for Pleistophora littoralis , one of only 2 microsporidians recorded from Lipophrys pholis , the shanny, or smooth or common blenny, a North Atlantic fish of the order Blenniiformes. Some information on its morphology, dispersal and transmission and conservation status is given, along with details of its geographical distribution (Europe (UK)) and host ( Lipophrys pholis ).
