Abstract

Induction motors are often used in industrial operations, and when combined with PLCs and VFDs, they can run automatically, making them an important aspect of industry automation. A sugar mill is utilising PLC and SCADA to regulate the actual speed of the proposed motor using a VFD. The amount of sugarcane put into the sugarcane crushing machine determines its speed. The Variable frequency drive is used to control the actual speed of the proposed three phase motor based on the load given to the proposed drive machine by increasing or decreasing the RPM of the motor. This activity is carried out by the Variable Frequency Drive (VFD), which is governed by the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and the system is controlled and supervised by SCADA unit.
