Abstract
HIV envelope glycoprotein (Env) exhibits extreme antigenic variation that can be countered by an amazing class of immunoglobulins known as broadly neutralizing antibodies. Dingens etal. (2019) use saturating mutagenesis of Env to play out all of the potential bnAb escape strategies and in doing so define the functional epitopes of these important vaccine and immunotherapeutic targets.
