Abstract

Soluble fibrin monomer complexes (SC) resulting from the interaction of fibrin monomer and fibrinogen degradation products induce platelet aggregation. Release of intrinsic platelet ADP seems to be the mediator of this aggregation which is inhibited by AMP, adenosine and Pyruvate kinase with phosphoenolpyruvate. Availability of acid phosphatase and platelet factor 4 release occur in the presence of SC. Acetyl salicylic acid inhibit both platelet aggregation and platelet factor 4 release.
