The ultra high purity manufacturing requirements of the semiconductor industry has lead to a demand for high performance plastic pumps. Here Yves Stefani, marketing manager pumps, Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics Asti discusses the main issue involved in ultra pure handling arrangements — ionic, particulate and organic contamination — and concludes with a brief look at cost of ownership considerations when choosing a high performance pump.
