Abstract

Herein, we study the realization of the optical concept of hybrid surface plasmon resonance (SPR) and lossy mode resonance (LMR) that gives rise to the plasmonic hot electron transfer from an Au thin film to Mos2layers coated on polymer optical fibre to address the gas sensing at ambient condition. The altered properties in the surrounding environment, in turn, can lead to changes in the resonance dip wavelength stemming from the emerged surface Plasmon and lossy modes of Mos2/Au bilayer thin film coated on the optical fibre as the transducing medium. The comparative experimental studies of transmitted light through the coated fibre reveal evidence of Plasmon-enhanced charge injection from Au to a sensing surface and provides a substantial advancement toward optical devices based on hot-electrons technology. This result can help for breathing measurements based on humidity which is the essential parameters in the health monitoring of patients in critical care.
