Abstract

We study theoretical formalism of the plasmon hybridization in a metallic nanotube and find an explicit form of the dispersion relation for surface plasmons, in terms of interaction between the bare plasmon modes of the individual surfaces of the nanotubes. In the special case when the longitudinal wave vector is zero ( q = 0 ) , the plasmon hybridization of a nanotube has a behavior similar to the spherical nanoshell.
