Abstract

The proposed plasma-replacement technology of ignition is aimed at the solution of the applied problems of high-velocity launching. Its characteristic features are the application of an additional charge consisting of a heterogeneous slurry propellant generating high-temperature two-phase combustion products and its multisite ETC-ignition achieved directly from a low-voltage energy storage. The efficiency of the proposed ignition technique is illustrated by the experimental results on the model 35-mm ETC-launcher with low-voltage energy storage
