Abstract

Field theory is applied to analyze the behavior of the thermal plasma-loaded tape helix traveling-wave tube in the presence of a solid electron beam present inside the plasma. The plasma temperature effect on the phase velocity and the growth rate of the system are investigated. It is shown that, if plasma temperature increases in the system, its working frequency and growth rate will increase. The results indicate that the axial electric field and growth rate increase with plasma density.
