Abstract

The resonant charge transfer process in collisions betweenpositive ions has been investigated in strongly coupled plasmas. The ion-sphere model is applied to describe the interactionpotential in strongly coupled plasmas. The electron transferprobability and the electron transfer cross-section are obtainedas functions of the energies of the symmetric and antisymmetricstates, ion-sphere radius, and collision energy. The results showthat the plasma screening effects enhance the resonant electrontransfer probability as well as the electron transfercross-section in strongly coupled plasmas.
