Abstract

A model of the JET poloidal field system is proposed describing the input-output dynamic relation between the voltages of the power amplifiers feeding the P.F. coils and the displacement of the plasma boundary. The model, derived from P.F. circuit equations and from magnetic field equilibrium configurations, is intended for the proper design of a multivariable feedback system for plasma shape and position control. The analysis for small perturbations around an initial configuration is carried out. A procedure for the model parameters evaluation is suggested using the available numerical codes.
