Plasma Parameters in a Rectangular Tube Positive Column Neon Plasma

Abstract

Plasma parameters in a rectangular discharge tube positive column neon plasma have been studied experimentally. The results show that the axial electric field and the electron temperature decrease with increasing gas pressure and discharge tube minor axis, and decreasing discharge tube minor-to-major axis ratio for fixed minor axis. Plasma density profiles also show that the effect of metastables becomes important when gas pressure increases.
