Abstract
1. 1. The plasma of pigeon ( Columba livia domestica) and turtle ( Geochelone chilensis) contains kininogen in concentration of 3·2–4·7 and 3·0–6·0 μg/ml respectively. 2. 2. No kininogen was detected in toad ( Bufo arenarum and B. paracnemis), chicken ( Gallus domesticus) and turkey ( Meleagris gallopavo). 3. 3. In all the species studied, their plasma shows strong bradykininolytic activity, which disappears on boiling.
