Abstract
An original rotating magnet system has been developed to enhanced the RIE process. It is built with synchronously rotating bar-shaped magnets, which create a travelling magnetic field of high intensity. This paper explains why the interaction torque between the magnets is very small, and how it is possible to obtain a high magnetic field in the useful area.
