Abstract
SummaryPlasma β‐melanocyte‐stimulating hormone (β‐MSH) levels were measured by radioimmunoassay in 10 women during the last trimester of normal pregnancy and in 21 women 40 to 95 days after delivery. It is concluded that β‐MSH cannot account for the increased circulating melanocyte‐stimulating activity that has previously been found in pregnancy when bioassays were used.
