Abstract

In this study, integrated multi-wall carbon nanotube (MWCNT)electrodes were prepared in the holes of glass directly by microwaveplasma chemical vapour deposition (MWPCVD). The electrochemicalbehaviour of catechol at the integrated MWCNT electrodes wasinvestigated. The oxygen plasma treated CNT electrodes had betterelectrochemical performance for the analysis of catechol than thatof as-synthesized CNT electrodes. Both the as-synthesized CNTs andplasma treated CNTs were characterized by TEM(transmission electronmicroscopy, XPS(X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy) and Ramanspectroscopy. The results revealed that the oxygen plasma activationis an effective method to enhance the electrochemical properties ofCNT electrodes.
