Abstract

Stachytarpheta jamaicensis (L.) Vahl is one of a medicinal plant that is often found growing wild in ruderal habitats. A research that aimed to know and determine plants diversity and similarity in three communities of S. jamaicensis habitat was conducted in (1) Gajahrejo village, Pasuruan Regency, East Java Province; (2) Kepala Jeri Island, Batam City, Riau Islands Province, and (3) Bissoloro village, Bungaya, Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi Province. The research used explorative and descriptive methods. Sample plots of 1 m x1 m were determined and put around S. jamaicensis found along tracks (random purposive sampling). The results showed that the plant’s diversity and similarity in the three sites growing area of S. jamaicensis habitat were different. There were five plant species obtained in the three sites growing area of S. jamaicensis i.e. Axonoppus compressus (Swartz) Beauv., Centrosema pubescent Bth., Chromolaena odorata (L.) R.M. King & H. Rob., Cynodon daytilon (L.) Pers and Mimosa pudica L. Axonopus compressus was the most dominance in Kepala Jeri Island and Bissoloro village, whereas Panicum brevifolium was the most dominance in Gajahrejo village.Stachytarpheta jamaicensis (L.)
