Abstract

Leaf diseases in long term field trials with reduced tillage and herbicide and fungicide treatment in spring barley, spring wheat and oats were studied during the years 1994–1997. Diseases were observed in only half of the fields/years in this period. It is concluded that fungicide treatment was very effective against the different diseases, while the effect of tillage treatment was more variable. On plots with no-tillage there was a decrease of some diseases and an increase of others compared to mouldboard ploughing. The No ploughing treatment in combination with monoculture increased the incidence of soil borne leaf spot diseases.
