Abstract

In the last 3 seasons, 31 spring wheat and 4 triticale genotypes have been used in the Crop Research Division's regional evaluation programme in the lower half of the North Island. Of these, 10 are still under evaluation: Karamu, Oroua, Rongotea, Tiritea, 3 numbered selections, and the triticales, Beagle, Mapache, and Maya-I-Armadillo. One selection in its first season equalled Karamu in yield and averaged 6 points higher in baking score.
