Abstract

In article number 1903551, Benedetto Marelli and co-workers design a silk-based biomaterial to fabricate a microneedle-like device with controlled degradation rate in planta via tuning material composition. The device enables precise access to xylem, phloem, and other plant tissues, thus being capable of serving as a delivery tool to release cargo molecules and as a sampling tool for analysis of plants fluid.
