Abstract
The article highlights the ecological significance of the Besitchay State Nature Reserve, located in the Zangilan region of Azerbaijan. The author examines in detail the geographical location of the reserve and its plant cover, describing various types of plant formations and associations. Considerable attention is paid to the study of meadow, swamp, aquatic, and forest vegetation as well as the importance of preserving rare plant species, such as the Oriental plane (Platanus orientalis), which is listed in the Red Book of Azerbaijan. The results are important for evaluating the current state of biodiversity and for developing measures to conserve it.
