Abstract

Plant communities with a dominance of bryophytes in aquatic and hydromorphic habitats have been classified according to the Braun-Blanquet method using 180 geobotanical descriptions. All the identified communities are ascribed to three classes, three orders, and four alliances. Four associations, three subassociations, and a regional variant are distinguished. The structure of these communities, their specific ecological features, and their geographical distribution are considered.
