Abstract

Paralleled power supplies with active current sharing (CS) are widely used in the industry. Lack of study on the open loop function of the current share system, the individual current share compensator design was usually based on trial and error. In this paper, a small-signal model of the paralleled dc-dc converter current share system is developed. The current share open loop control-to-output transfer function is derived and analyzed, it contains an unusually low-frequency pole due to converter output impedance if converter has no droop resistance, thus, a traditional type 1 current share controller would not give sufficient phase margin. Simulation and experiment are provided to prove the analysis.
