Abstract

In this paper, a planar wideband balanced-to-balanced microstrip diplexer with excellent reflectionless characteristics is presented. In order to solve the problem of interference caused by reflected energy in wireless communication systems for conventional balanced diplexers, a novel design concept of a balanced absorptive diplexer with reflectionless characteristics is realized by loading reflectionless stubs with different operating frequencies at differential transmission ports and differential reception ports. To confirm the validation of modeling design, a microstrip prototype of a balanced absorptive diplexer is manufactured and measured with lower and upper channels centered at 1.2 and 1.8 GHz, with a 3-dB bandwidth of 36.7 % and 33.3 %, respectively.
