Abstract

SOFCo has initiated a new program called the Affordable Manufacturing for Power Systems (AMPS) that aims to develop low-cost, high-performance, planar solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) systems. The SOFC stack design will use multilayer ceramic manufacturing technology to reduce stack fabrication cost. During Phase I of the AMPS program, which was partly funded by the U.S. Department of Energy, the feasibility of co-fired cells has been demonstrated. Phase II will focus on demonstrating co-fired short stacks.
