Abstract

Results of development and investigations of lithium-drifted silicon detectors with a large active volume and an active depth of 4–8 mm for use in multilayer spectrometers are presented. The main performance characteristics of the detectors are described. The detectors have been used to good effect in nuclear radiation spectroscopy, particularly in experimental studies of exotic nuclei at accelerators.
