Abstract

A novel planar quasi-Yagi antenna for ultra-wideband (UWB) applications is presented in this letter. The structure of the proposed design comprises of a coupling transition structure and triple dipoles connected by a coplanar strip-line. By using the triple-dipole structure, two band rejections are obtained to avoid potential interferences. In addition, the measured results show reasonable agreement with simulated ones, which indicated that the proposed design has dual-band-rejection at WiMAX band (3.3–3.6 GHz) and WLAN band (5.15–5.825 GHz). Meanwhile, the antenna can achieve a stable gain and a relatively flat time-domain response in the passband, which meets the requirements of a UWB system.
