Abstract

In this paper a simple implementation of a radial N-way power combiner based on the Wilkinson power combiner is presented. The design only makes use of printed circuit board technology and as a result has a relatively simple, lightweight and inexpensive manufacturing process. As a proof of concept, a 6-way radial power combiner in the center frequency of 3.15 GHz is designed and fabricated. Measurements showed an operational bandwidth of 2.85 – 3.41 GHz, −15 dB of input matching, an isolation of −23 dB between the input ports, an amplitude balance of ±0.08 dB and a phase balance of ±1 degrees.
