Abstract

Institute for Physics and Power Engineering (IPPE) has been developing planar SOFCs and power systems, based on them, since 1996. The R&D works include SOFC material investigations, SOFC and stack design and technology, single cells and stacks tests, small-scale SOFC power system design development. Currently our efforts have been concentrated mainly on development of the LT- SOFC with thin-film electrolyte and electrodes on porous stainless steel supporting plate with operating temperature of about 600OC. The stack design and technology are being developed on the base of the LT-SOFC. Simultaneously the fuel processor on the base of microchannel reactors technology for the stack is being developed too. The status of R&D works on the IT-SOFC, stack and fuel processor at IPPE and some results are discussed in this paper.
