Abstract

Planar integration of diffractive-reflective optical systems around a glass substrate is an important concept for efficient, reliable, and compact packaging of optical interconnects. Realisation of joint transform correlators in planar integrated packages is described. Such compact correlator packages can be combined with other integrated packages on an optoelectronic breadboard to build complex optical processors for target recognition applications.
