Abstract

Optical components were constructed for focusing monochromatic visible light into arbitrary lines with a given intensity distribution. Two-gradation focusing components fabricated by photolithographic methods from photoresist films were found to have an efficiency of about 30% when producing lines of width close to the diffraction limit.
