Once a government understands what it wants to achieve with the five-year strategy for developing national telemedicine and health hotline services, it needs to consider how to engage the private sector service providers to complete the private sector strategy before drawing the one-year road map or choosing service provider(s), because the strategy will determine which activities the work plan needs to include and will define the nature of private sector involvement in the solution. The Private Sector Strategy Worksheet assists governments in documenting a private sector strategy for a given solution such as a health hotline service. By filling out the worksheet, governments will have a simple, usable private sector strategy. The Understanding Types of Collaboration with the Private Sector reference materials show that the benefits of working with the private sector require mastering collaboration and provides collaboration model guidance.
