Abstract

Purpose: A major component of plan evaluation is the inspection of dose-volume metrics so that clinical parameters, including burden of organs at risk (OAR) and fractionation scheme, can be determined. Sources of uncertainty for the dose-volume metrics calculated by the planning software have been identified and determined to be software and user dependent. In this work we investigate the magnitude of such uncertainties and their clinical implications for the hypofractionated treatment of locally advanced non small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
