Abstract

The diagnosis of agenesis of one lung is suggested when the plain chest roentgenograms of an adult show marked compensatory increase in volume of one lung without signs of hyperaeration. Definitive diagnosis can then be established with a minimum of further procedures and the patient promptly reassured.
