Abstract
Composition of plagioclases in schists, migmatites, augen gneiss, granite gneiss and hornblende-biotite gneiss in Lokoja S.E., Nigeria ranges from An 24 to An 32. Granite and gabbro which intruded these rocks have plagioclases ranging in composition from An8 to An 18 and An 32 to An 58 respectively. Albite twins (80%) and pericline twins (15%) predominate in the plagioclases of all the rock units. The structural state of the plagioclases is low and the value of 2 vz ranges from 82° to 85°.
